THE SPACES BETWEEN

The Center for Information and Collaboration (CIC) is a communal library space where the integration of photography, architecture and art occur.  The objective is to guide the user through and by the different programs, experiencing their diversities and similarities.  Walls are used as the guiding concept which also act as the structure and framework for the distribution of the project.

Intervention is what define spaces, most commonly as walls, as planes of enclosure.  One wall can define not only a space but also circulation, meeting points, the sense of discovery, the sense of compression and extension and give an area a whole different feeling.  The CIC focuses on giving the user an experience of finding, through the movement within the structural walls.  These act as separation and also integration barriers.
